ABOUT US

We are the Ledsham family and we've lived at and run Church Farm for over 30 years now. What initially attracted us to the farm still attracts hundreds of visitors each week; the unique location with ever-changing breathtaking views over to North Wales. We feel extremely responsible in our role as guardians and protectors of this special site and want to share our farm with others whilst still maintaining the unique beauty and ecology of the area.

The idea of a burial ground came about when we looked at options when some of our relatives passed away. We realized that a natural burial ground could both be a positive gift to the environment and a positive experience for relatives of the deceased. Many local families in the area have fond memories of Church Farm having visited with their family or celebrated a wedding ceremony.

We have always been a family business and hope to run Forget Me Not Fields in the same manner for many more years to come. Steve is the front-man of the business and you'll meet him if you want to visit the site. His wife Brenda provides both moral and practical support behind the scenes. I'm Matthew and I provide the technical support on the website, mapping, documentation and database. We're supported by a small but fantastic team of staff who help us too. We look forward to welcoming you to our burial ground soon.

NATURAL BURIAL

In recent years there has been an increase in the number of people rejecting traditional burial customs and opting for a burial that better suits their beliefs, attitudes toward death and personal philosophy. One of the ways in which this has manifested itself is in an increase in demand for natural burial.

While traditional burial methods are still the popular choice, natural burial is emerging as a popular alternative way of conducting a funeral. A natural burial attempts to return a body to the earth in as natural a way as possible. This involves a rejection of embalming processes and caskets or coffins that won’t biodegrade with time.

Natural burials are for everyone, but may particularly appeal to those that desire a more simple burial process, to those that believe that the body is best returned to the earth upon death, and to those with a passion for conservationism. A natural burial is the perfect choice for anyone who enjoyed spending time in unspoilt nature and who was environmentally conscious.

Forget Me Not Fields is a proud member of The Association of Natural Burial Grounds. Natural burial enables people to choose a funeral which is unique, in tune with nature and gentle on the environment.
